RO servicing loot
For everyone’s info. Recently we called for our RO service. The person came and suggested motor has to be changed. We approved and let him do so getting busy with other errands.
Then he called us in kitchen and said filters need changing showing us high TDS. We said ok. Then he adjusted the TDS knob post filter change.
Out of curiosity and suspicion mu wife said change the filters back (put old back) and he did only for us to see that TDS stayed low.
So basically the crook service engineer changed the knob setting to show high tds and then said change filters. When the filters were changed he changed knob setting to show low TDS.
He and his buddies are probably doing it in thousands of homes each year and the RO makers are having a ball with service revenue. No body is bothered to analyse data and say that filters or thousands of consumer that by design dont need changing every 3-6 months are being changed.

Darshanji not clarified pr replied to my queries. His answer or clarification could enable to correct him properly. All the same RO can be treated by any individual Take a pot of water and insert some quantity if charcoal. After few hours filter the water. Test the TDS. The filtered water be purified by stopping 100 grams of potassium permanent in Crystal's. Filter and test the water, one would get RO and free of hardness and acidity water in neutral form. more

Aninditaji, All Companies have some short comings. I have been patronized Eureka Forbes classic for 39 years. Good machine with candle replacement system. This machine was buggered up by their own, said to be experienced technicians.. I chased up with Company and get the machine fully operative. After a long persuation, I was recommended Dr. MAGANA clasdic. From day one of installation, one or other problem, on a daily basis,I had been facing regularly irregular filtration. The culprit was their filter, not capable of succing water, thus, prompting frequent cleaning. Meanwhile, this brand taken of the shelf, but, problem at my end was compounding. I took up seriously with the company and I had presented my case in this platform. Many members from this circle expressed their mental agony with Eureka Forbes machines. I gave ultimatum to Eureka saying, I will take matter seriously with appropriate authorities, meanwhile Eureka changed filter capable of succing water, thus,the problem resolved. MADAME, Eureka take Comprehensive service contract which covers all parts and , with their business ethics, they replace parts free during AMC. This prompted me to raise various doubts with Mr. Darshan Rao and clarified your plight. more

I also own a Kent RO water purifier and only 10 days back, I had got it attended by the authorised service engineer of the company twice, once for block of water flow and next time for dripping of water from filtered water pipe and reject water pipe. For blocked water, his diagnosis is that filters have clogged in addition to malfunction of solenoid valve. He changed all 3 filters (1 R.O+2 TDS filters) & solenoid valve. We resisted change of filters but he said that if we don’t, then pump will come under stress. Our 2 filters were last changed in mid 2018 & there is no record regarding R.O. We weren’t shown any TDS knob but were told that if flow reduces substantially, then the change of filters must be considered. Can someone throw some light on this please? more

Thats not surprising as every year I have to spend from 4 to 7 thousand for maintenance for my Kent RO purifier. more
