Rising mobile tariffs

Yesterday I asked our gardener how much he pays for a recharge. He said ₹199/- Airtel pack. I told him that the minimum price will be higher from next month.

He said, A few years ago, with a ₹40-50/- recharge, I could easily manage for months. Why doesn't the government help people like us?

People like him don't use any data but forcefully pay for things they don't use, there are millions of people like him, but who'll listen to them? They are not on social media to raise their voice like the rich and powerful dog lovers. more

“There is a big difference between the urgent need for a glass of water and being forced to consume an excessive quantity ot through out just to fill coffers. At least in a restaurant, if a thali seems wasteful, the customer has the choice to opt for something smaller—or even walk next door . That same choice is what we seek from TRAI: flexible tariffs, without a mandatory 1 or 2-liter minimum.” and waste the hard earned money. more
Only voice/ only voice & SMS maybe mandatorily made available. The quality of data transmission by BSNL in my area is too poor to be subscribed. My earlier experience - Sometimes for FAX transmission BSNL tells phone number doesn't exist but after sometime it is transmitted. more
is trai seriously bothered about consumer interest because they get their salary righht sir - purchasing power no one wants to gives - expenses from where increasing only? more
If the mobile service providers tom-tom free calling and sms, there should be no need to recharge for lifetime unless the user want data pack. TRAI must take this up seriously. more
truly said looks like trai officials are hand in glove with them hence they cannot enforce anything on them .It is somewhat similar to earlier when we had cable network and we were getting all the channels but after the trai introduced the channel wise payment we are getting lower no of channels but price is higher,The main purpose of pay for channels u see is lost so it did not serve any purpose and made it bad to worse.same with respect to mobile .service providers should also give without data for people who do not use it as an option .It looks like they are forcing to buy data on which trai is helpless and cannot enforce anything on them more
