Remove the stops

For super fast trains we should have only three or four stops. more

Most of the problems are created by selfish demands and liberal app easements policy of the administration.maitain/increase of political vote bank is another problem. At times carrier of IAS offIcers is sacrificed to appease a particular vote bank or a local leader as case was of suspension and removal Durga Nagpal in Noida. To improve administration approach of politician outside the assembly has to stopped more
IR is controlled by politicians & politicians need to face the electorate every 5yrs or sometimes even earlier. So I would not blame the politician completely, however, what is needed is rationalisation of stops for all trains. Fortunately on IR we have all kinds of trains from non stop Durontos(though they will not remain non stop from 1-Jan-16 anymore), Rajdhanis, Shatabdis, crack superfasts, slow superfasts, mail/exp, fast passengers & passengers. Every train cannot be catering to all stations or each set of citizens cannot wish to have direct connectivity to maximum number of places. One or two changeover is something which all of us should be ready to accept depending on where we stay. What IR needs is a RM who is ready to have a pan-Indian approach as far as possible having a unbiased mindset who can objectively view all categories of trains & accordingly have rules for adding stoppages to them. more
I can site many non elitist superfast trains which have been slowed down due to increase in stoppages. Examples: Brindavan Exp, Kovai Exp and Lalbagh Exp. Further, no step has been taken to increase running speeds beyond 110 kph. However, the Howrah and Mumbai Rajdhanis alone have been unaffected by this phenomenon. Further, the Chennai-Mumbai route is a neglected route as the fastest train in this section has an average of 55 kph. I do not know when such anomalies will end more
