Below are some of your best ideas on how we can reduce use of paper. Kindly review and share any additional specific inputs that you think must be implemented by citizens, government and businesses to reduce use of paper.

Reducing use of paper for Swachh Bharat

1. Citizens should subscribe to e-bills, e-statements and e-payments
2. Use of pencils should be encouraged in senior classes also so that the paper can be reused
3. Use of tissue papers/kitchen rolls/toilet paper should be reduced
4. Soft copies should be saved instead of printing everything
5. Emails should not be printed unless it is absolutely necessary
6. The blank side of the printed waste papers should be reused for printing/rough work
7. Everyone should try and improve their computer literacy
8. Use document sharing platforms instead of distributing printed copies
9. Files and approvals in Government and Corporate Offices should be made electronic
10. Instead of printed invites to parties/functions etc., e-invites could be sent
11. Use of paper cups/plates should be limited wherever possible
12. Parents must teach kids to use the old diaries and books for rough work
13. Citizens should use cloth bags instead of paper bags
14. For those who have internet access, the e-newspapers could be used
15. All communications of the RWAs to the residents should be made digital
16. E-books could be purchased instead of paper books. more

It is followed since last two years and they issue bills on demand or disputes only. They send SMS and after payment acknodge through SMS. more  
All solutions presented here and doing every thing on e-something will increase use of electricity and production of which will increase global warming. This like inviting devil to control thief. more  
Let the instructions pass from the babus to reduce use of paper. Implementation and educating people are two important subject. more  
Going a step ahead, stop printing Bills by Telecommunication Company,Bank Statements. For KYC Documents, no need of Photocopy, Link with AADHAR more  
Train and Flight e-Tickets should not printed as showing SMS suffices. more
