Real Inflation Situation vs what media reports

The retail inflation rate in wheat has doubled to 17.61% in Oct from 9.59% in April, despite the export ban imposed in May.

Rice inflation has doubled to 10.21% from almost 4% in Apr; this is hurting the poor man.

On other hand we have business media reporting inflation has reduced and things are looking up.

I appreciated this survey by the circle on vegetable prices as it was super honest no sugar coating.

Can LocalCircles please do a survey to quantify the real situation on food grains and the squeeze. more

I think the Real Inflation for a House Hold Expenses have Increased by More then 10 % if your compare with a year back Expenses. more
No effect more
I have not been affected by change, if any, in the prices of Rice and wheat as these items aren’t purchased by me during last 3 months. However, I have heard from someone that price of Rice has changed. Since both are staple foods , the inflation must be controlled and if possible prices must be kept stable. more
There is something wrong about inflation calculation; - Transport changed [Air travel-representing about 5% -only travelers on average]. Major cities-vegetables might have changed [but not in Hyderabad, many places].2. Bus and taxation changed last year. Rice still commands same price. We have food stocks to contain more than 15 months from now on.3. Pulses is increasing at 10%.4. Cloth is from old stocks, they are selling at as possible prices.5. The center is issuing food subsidy for the weaker sections. 6.They have unnecessarily increased-Land, construction cost. It do not mean except for cement and steel [dependent on electrical energy consumption [states have to see] is costing more]. 7.Never before in history, the Legislative members are directly in business of construction as of now. That they are choosing to send wrong signals across world is /can be seen. 8.India still is preferred best place for living of masses. No migration is expected from any place in India. more
Since 80 crore citizens are getting free food grains for the last 3 years, it's impact will be borne by middle class. It does not affect upper middle class. more
