Excellent initiative given the crowd of people travelling in trains in our country. A general observation of all the facilities is that they fail to meet a standard of cleanliness, be it the waiting room or platforms at station or the toilets and floor of the coaches. Hence the whole Indian Railways needs a major jolt in terms of progression on cleanliness. We hope NOT to find cockroaches, bed bugs, mouse and rats, dirty dogs and cats, and of course the unseen harmful disease spreading germs (if possible) spread everywhere during our experience with the Indian Railways. This itself would be the most basic level to start with. more

We must develop parameters for rating. Cleanliness in toilets, Cleanliness in wash basic. Cleaning of floor in the sitting are, Cleanliness of berths. Emptying garbage in the compartments and platform. Cleanliness on railway track. Cleanliness of water. Other partners can add to list give weight age each item which will become basis for rating. Cleanliness in the trains is almost missing. I was travelling in Azimabad Express last month in AC IInd coach . I found that the garbage container near door is overflowing and garbage is spread all over upto the doors . On top of it the bathrooms were real dirty and no water supply. There was no toilet paper and concerned attachments are broken. more

I am in coach B2 of train no. 18408 Sai nagar to puri. Found all the toilets dirty in almost 5 a/c coaches. Toilet of A/C first class was having no water. Water from the overhead tank was falling inside the coach near the door preventing the use of basin.I request facility to attach pictures with the post. more
