Railway Booking opens before SIXTY DAYS

Why Sixty days ? Why not open for 180 days. It will benefit Railways and Paxs. It can be done like Airlines also Less rate before six months and more on last days. I as an agent has observed that when booking was open before 120 days there were no problems.Tickets were easily available to all and there were less buyer in tatkal. The actual Tatkal buyer use to get the Tickets. This is suggestion so that there is no BLACK MARKETING of Rail Tickets more

A.V.Venkataraman The suggestion is good. It was being followed some years back but he agents made bulk booking in advance and resorted to black marketing afterwards. This can be eliminated by allowing bonafide passengers only to book seats directly using their credit/debit cards, not through agents. For agents, we can keep the present 60 days or whatever Railways decide. The truncated fare is an excellent idea, and cancellation charges can be fixed depending upon the number of days before the departure of the train. more
