PVT HOSPITAL CHARGES

The charges by pvt hospitals are exorbitant and worst is they are forcing for the non required treatments causing the financial hardships to patients, even selling their gold/property. the only solution is govt should open more hospitals. The finance can be obtained by floating the health insurances. The pvt insurance companies are minting money from health insurance and pocketing the profits but govt can use that profit to make more hospitals. more

Just yesterday i had dischatged my father from mahaveer jain hospital i had the worst experince my father was admitted for not able to have food or even water when they took the blood for testing they were not at all proffesionals there behaviour was so casual i think the govt hospitals would had been better , it was just waiting waiting and waiting to get admitted u have to wait to get discharge u have to wait to get refund of ur medicine u have to clearify if u have taken the medicine or the nurse has taken if the nurse has taken it will not be replaced if u have taken then produce the bill...worst experience i think hospitals should be more responsible and caring instead of thinking of the bills they should think about the lives involved with the patient who has come to get treatment.. more
Private hospital should give a break up of cost - referring to another consultant, seek patient's approval, ICU shifting must have a reason more
Let all hospitals be given ratings. Let all charges like ICU , operation theatre, docs visiting charges, test charges etc be fixed within a band depending on cities in which they are located. When doctors prescribe tests these tests are best done in star rated path labs which again would have fixed charges.Hospitals should have affiliation to these labs rather than having labs within the hospital. There should be a mechanism where patient can complain of excessive tests. In such a case the matter would be looked into by a medical board who will decide if the tests were justified. If found excessive or unjustified the doctor would get a warning which would be put on his media profile. After two warnings the doctor's rating would come down one notch. After third instance his licence would be suspended. All doctors should be scrutinised every year to check what they have done in the past two years and a rating assigned based on judgement of the cases handled by them and whether successful or not. Patients should have the option of giving feedbacks on the assessment authority website. more
