Public thoroughfare used for personal business

I am constrained to bring to your notice the abject disregard for public safety and peace, using public thoroughfare by unscrupulous businessman, for doing business in bricks and sand by blocking the entire road endangering life as well.

It's been going on for a very long time now and is public nuisance since the trucks are offloaded at unearthly hours, disturbing peace in the vicinity.

I humbly request that the venue be shifted elsewhere, and peace and calm and road safety are restored in the area soon enough.

Kind regards,

Bidyut Chatterjee

Just heard some news that a few laborers have been thrown out of the building by the syndicate operators, severely injuring them. Does Bengal youth want to survive on easy money? more
I thought action would be taken against these syndicates. If it is allowed to continue, Bengal wiil be ruined more
I agree with the comments so far. The pedestrian paths have been occupied by hawkers. What right do they have to occupy public land? Isn't the City (Municipal Corporation) responsible to it's tax paying citizens to ensure that their rights are not trampled upon? With the footpaths occupied by illegal hawking people pedestrians have to walk on the carriageway, endangering their lives, especially with buses and mini-buses racing each other! These hawkers also kill business for shopkeepers who have their tax and rental paid shops on these footpaths because their shops are totally hidden from view of the shopping public (I am not a shopkeeper, just to clarify any doubts that anyone may have). Another area that the City must look into is the filth below the many flyovers in the city. Take the Gariahat Flyover as an example. The place below the flyover has been occupied by vagrants. They stay there with their families, eat, sleep and drink, procreate and answer the call of nature, all right there under the flyover! Our Mayor should visit Hyderabad, Bangalore or Delhi to see how beautifully spaces under flyovers are maintained! Unfortunately, our Mayor is overburdened with responsibilities too many! more
It is the duty of police administration(Local Thana) to take care of such unauthorized disturbance on the streets. Also counselor should take note of it and take proper remedial measure. more
Most of such business are run by Syndicate backed by ruling party.Hence don't expect action. more
