We are all aware that these days man-power has become very costly and some times it looks like exploitation also. On the other hand Porters are also charging inordinately high.
The best solution, from my side is that all stations should have sufficient trolleys on PPP or purely on contractual basis like we have Bed-Rolls in the A/C Coaches.
The contractor who is providing trolleys should charge reasonable amount per trolley. more

I never been to the New Delhi rly stn, but dont you have escalators in rly stn? I have seen many rly stns having escalators. Just like airport we should have sufficient trolleys and we can use escalators instead of foot over bridge. Moreover, just like airports visitor entry should be charged so that people would get into rly stn unless there is a real need. This would reduce unnecessary rush at railway stations and also helpful security wise. more

THE CHARGES DEMANDED BY COLLIES ARE EXORBITANT,SOMETIMES TEN TIMES THE PRESCRIBED RATES.THEY FORM A CARTEL AT MAJOR STATIONS LIKE NEW DELHI...IS ANYONE CARRYING SPOT CHECK?OR THEY ARE AFRAID OF UNIONS OF PORTERS...IF SO WHY NOT FIX REALISTIC AND PRACTICAL RATES more
