Plastic being microwaved should not be permitted

Using plastic in microwaves is a big concern at restaurants and the member of circles keep reporting experience at different restaurants.

Can we please have BIS basically come out and say that no plastic can be used in microwaves. some standards should be define. problem in our country is people believe some plastic containers can be used in microwave and hence soon all plastic containers are put in there.

standards should help simplify things for consumers. more

This is common knowledge, dear Aditi....
Now don't bother BIS with it...... more
In the guidelines for users attached to the packs of the machine clearly prohibits the using of plastic containers/plastic materials in any form for warming/cooking food items in the microwave. It is our respective government departments/agencies who should come out heavily on the restaurants found overlooking the guidelines and putting the lives of their customers at risk/ in danger. Unfortunately, we have adequate laws empowering these departments/agencies to investigate and initiate severe action against such profit mongering entities with seldom efforts and interests to act. more
should be stop asap more
It should be stopped and by legislation it should be a cognizable offence more
