I feel the most important thing is to enforce ban on production of polythene bags because they r the biggest source of non biodegradable wastes. This can happen by calling the companies who make polythene bags and giving them deadline after which they should not be allowed to produce these.Also there should be strict policy on ban on sale of poly thene by retailers after carrying out a wide spread campaign for about six months. Large scale Production of paper and cotton/jute bags should be encouraged immediately. Also we must involve some famous bollywood/sports personality in this campaign. We need to have 1-2 waste treatment plant for each town. Every builder who makes more than 8 flats must maintain atleast 20 per cent area as green area and have proper waste disposal plan. Monitoring of this should be done by the society.Before a builder plans his next project he must get a clearance from the society of his previous project. There should also be cattle farms where the stray castles should be kept and there dung can be utilised for making manure. The ex servicemen should be employed in the project monitoring teams.
