PET BULL TERRIER MAULS MAN TO DEATH

Just a week after we discussed Stray Dogs and Public Safety in this very Circle (14th August), a shocking incident has shaken our neighborhood.

* A 55-year-old man was mauled to death this morning by a pet Bull Terrier. The most tragic part? He stepped in to save the dog’s owner—only to be fatally attacked. The dog latched onto his genital area, refused to let go, and the street was left blood-soaked.

* Residents reveal they had already complained multiple times about this dog, but no action was taken due to the political clout of the owner.

* The woman who owned the dog is also hospitalized, while the dog has been moved to the Corporation Dog shelter. Police have registered a case, and the owner will be arrested once discharged.

This was a pet dog—not a stray—yet it was clearly poorly cared for and became a danger to society.

Now the big question:
# If even pet dogs can turn deadly under careless ownership, what about the growing menace of stray dogs that continue to attack, injure, and terrify children and the elderly?

# Public safety must take priority over blind animal rights arguments. Will the authorities and animal activists finally act responsibly?

# Would you like me to make this more punchy and brief (like a 4–5 point social media post), or keep it as a detailed narrative complaint?

THIS BREED IS PROBABLY PROHIBITED more
This problem did not start overnight. It's been building up over several years and is being proactively reported more now. There are many causes for this menace, and most of them relate to irresponsible actions by humans. Like so many things in public life, there has been no thought or action to control such a menace. Even years ago, it was not safe to walk, especially where stray dog packs were around. We have ruined the environment, the ambient temperature is up, and dogs go crazy during months when the temperature crosses 40 °C. Often, they do not get adequate food or are fed by people who give any leftover food with no concern for how the food may affect the animal. At the same time, we have a set of people who keep exotic dog varieties from cold countries as pets. Maintaining such breeds is expensive, and such owners cut corners. The incident is probably a reflection of the owner's pride, coupled with animal apathy. Pets do not lead a normal life and are put to punishment of many sorts, such as isolation from their breed, inclement weather, improper or inadequate food and making it devoid of its physical, emotional and psychological needs. Treating any animal as a toy is fraught with issues, as these animals have a different growth trajectory, and they are probably adults at 2-3 years, as compared to a human. more
