Paper cups

Kerala is compliant. In a recent visit to Palakkad I was happy to find hospital canteens are mostly refusing to supply tea in paper cups. Either you have to drink from glass tumblers or if you want to carry away for patient you have to bring a stainless steel vessel. If one insists they charge extra Rs 2. These cups too are uncounted and thus soon gets soggy and can not be reused.

Another area where I found Kerala consumer friendly is 1. Sale of flowers by weight. 2. Sale of bananas by weight. 3. Food articles when parcelled are taped and not stapled. In TN the packets are often stapled and the metal may find its way to stomach, especially among innocent children more
