OVERHAUL OF RAILWAYS RESERVATION QUOTAS

The Railways issue tickets 120 days in advance. It is very clear by this policy that the Railways are in a very Bad Financial condition. They want to Run the Railways with the Public Money, by manipulating them to buy tickets 120 days in advance. It would be better, if Railways really need Money, they could issue some Bonds. Their expenditure needs to be curtailed and Leakages blocked. more
Proposition of Cancellation charges doubling for 3rd A.C.,Sleeper class not justfied.Presently railway in case of non-alloted reservations also deducting amount plus service charges which is also arbitrary n illegal .Govt. has to think twice n should emphasize on 100 percent resource utilisation n instead of adding income by cancellation etc.should increase fare 10% for infrastructure development more
Ouch, I put forward my thoughts for discussion, the next step was to have separate threads to discuss each different reservation quota, then separate threads to discuss the pros and cons of reducing Tatkal, HO etc., then perhaps discussing if my plan would lead to touts buying tickets on the first day of ARP. I was looking for opinions on every aspect of my plan, then I would have taken these views on board and hopefully adjusted the plan accordingly, then re-wrote the whole plan in a better structured format, then put the plan forward as a serious option. I'm sure you posted the petition with the best intentions, but it's nowhere near detailed enough or properly structured to be taken seriously. I also think it's wrong for a foreigner to put forward such a proposal, I would have been very happy to do the final draft with an Indian, then he/she put forward the petition, India is full of very proud people who like to do things themselves, I'm happy to nudge things in the right direction, but it's for Indians to take the plan forward. more
