Our highways and expressways are a death trap. even the main bifurcations to the domestic and international terminals on NH8 are not properly marked and at the bifurcation there are no indications or warning or illumination ,thereby lots of confusion and accidents occur. Every one using these highways and expressways is not a local ,and for india to aspire to be counted as a developing country with trying to step into the category of developrd countries with booming economy, the least that is expected is international standards of highway signs and markings.Hope Gadkari ji is listening.

Rules for vehicle movement remain in BOOK, not properly IMPLEMENTED by RTO more
Well said Bhanu, I would like to add that cattle and people not to cross the roads and there should be a separate way (bridge or underpass), since vehicles move at a very fast pace. I am a driving enthusiast and drive from Bangalore to all the locations within 1000 km. radius. Any accident with a vehicle for a pedestrian or cyclist or cattle is treated as mistake of the vehicle driver, which is seldom correct. I had seen an elderly gentleman crossing the high median on a bi-cycle on the Chennai-Bangalore express way. Without noticing he was coming on the other side of the road. He was almost hit by the speeding car, just because of the alertness of the driver the accident was averted. more
