Online gaming, casinos and horse racing 50% gst

GoM from states is meeting in Delhi. Broad consensus is on proposing 28% GST slab for casinos, race courses & online gaming.

Isnt that ridiculous? They want to increase 5% to 8% but only tax sin products at 28%.

Why not have a category of 50% for such services??

Please give your views everyone. Why not. If enough of u respond may be LC manager will conduct survey. more

Disclaimer: I do not like to or never engage in this activity. That said, the research shows if you tax a bad habit or bad thing to death it flourishes in black market to underground. more
