Now the aadhaar loot begins people

People have been coerced first to give the biometrics by making Aadhar compulsory for ration card to bank accounts to filing returns. And now the Government is consiocharging us for the authentication!

Attached proposed rules say Govt will charge citizens and businesses for authentication which means business will pass that cost to people also. Highlights below and request to localcircles to take this issue ip.

(1) (a) Aadhaar authentication services shall be charged @ Rs. 3 (including applicable taxes) and Rs. 0.50 (including applicable taxes) for each successful Aadhaar e-KYC transaction and each successful Yes/No authentication transaction respectively from requesting entities;
(b) Each failed, but chargeable Aadhaar e-KYC transaction or Yes/No authentication transaction shall be charged @ Rs. 0.50 (including applicable

taxes) per such transaction from requesting entities.
(2) Authentication transactions done by or on behalf of the Central and State Government Ministries/ Departments, for notified services, transfer of benefits and subsidies, shall be exempt from Authentication transaction charges.
(3) The above charges shall be in addition to the License fees and financial disincentives, as applicable.
(4) Details of the transaction error codes and its charges shall be issued separately.
(5) The Authentication transaction charges (for both Aadhaar e-KYC and Yes/No
transactions) as in Regulation 2(1) above shall be revised every two years by linking it
with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and rounding it to the nearest 10 paisa. more

These fees are payable by Institutions using Aadhaar authentication not by the Aadhaar holder - as such fully justified ... Please understand the context of the regulation before criticising each element of Govt activity .... more

We must understand the purpose behind the rule, but we are opposing for the sake of opposition. more
I disagree with views expressed by Mr. Bhuvanesh Thakar on the base that every citizen must contribute to exchequer by various taxes either direct or indirect. Biggest lacuna in our tax system is exemption and agriculturists are benefited in a huge way. Are they not enjoying public utilities. Who pays for it. If agriculture income is taxed at a very tiny rate of 0.5% with basic exemption like any profession or income, exchequer will get significant revenue since agri. income is sizable. But no politician will touch that subject. All politicians will unite when it comes to the increase of salaries and perks which are totally exempted. Same is seen in getting fuel into GST ambit recently. I believe sooner or later citizens will realise and move for mass people movement. more
Manish ji - are you aware that till date Aadhar is not mandatory - can anyone say why...??? The question becomes more pertinent if you consider it so important for all transactions / dealings.... It sure is a problem for all those who are not tech-savvy - particularly those who come from the age of typewriters...... The Govt has not been empathetic but we can be. So kindly be more adaptive, patient and polite with your statements and suggestions when replying to such senior (aged) persons as Krishnamurthi ji. Thank you! more
