NO REFUND OF TATKAL TICKETS WHO GETS BENEFITED?
In Indian Railways If there is no refund for the cancellation of a confirmed Tatkal ticket, why would anyone bother to cancel their Tatkal ticket?
And Who get it's advantage
1.UNAUTHORIZED PASSANGERS
. TTE'S
OR
3.WAITLIST TICKET PASSANGERS
scenario is this : Someone booked a tatkal ticket - HIS plans changed - He won't get His money back anyway so He don't bother to cancel the ticket (waste of money (if not travelling) and waste of time ).
Other scenario is this : someone booked a tatkal ticket - Booking status was CKWL/5 - Now it is CKWL/1 - Today is the journey - He Hopes someone whose plan has changed cancels a ticket.
Get a co-relation ?
You see, when you don't cancel a tatkal ticket, there will be people in the waiting list (like me) desperate & urgent to go somewhere. And our beloved Indian Railways has a policy of 'automatically cancelling' any unconfirmed/waiting tatkal ticket.
Hence, if anybody who boards the train with an unconfirmed Wait listed ticket after chart preparation is considered a ticketless passenger - A CRIME ! Thus, nobody would take a chance of travelling with an unconfirmed wait list ticket.
Hence the final result : (If somebody can't cancel)
- he don't travel because his plans changed.
- Somebody who is desperate to get somewhere doesn't get to travel because of ticket not get confirmed.
This advantage mostly taken by CORRUPTION AND BRIBERY
Isn't it?
Moral of the answer : You should have a moral obligation to your fellow passengers to allow them to travel if your plans change.
And your moral responsibility to stop malpractice and corruption more

Railway I run for Haffttakhor Baus and not for passengers. If you do not understand such a simple logic, you hacve to blame yourself. more

Railway stop cancelletion after 45 minutes of shedule departure of train for RAC/WL passangers and four hours of CNF passengers! This directly benificial for TTE, passenger don't cancel the tkt and don't travell. more

May be for Tatkal tickets as well, refund to be initiated if we cancel before 30 mins of travel. So that, reservation will be accommodated with RAC or Waitlisted passengers. This is the action expecting by everyone. Kindly add your suggestions/points on this. more

Dear friend the definition of Democracy has changed in our country and now it stands as " it is a govt of the idiots by the idiots and for the most brainless idiots. Railway refund rules should be passenger friendly. Now it is favourable to the TTE to make money. Already many passengers have represented this in local circle. But railway has taken no step. When there is no refund given, why a passenger has to waste his/her time and energy to cancel the ticket? more
