I had applied for cancellation of GST registration to avoid filing nil return and incur penalty etc for delay.The Dept has rejected my request. What is the remedy? more  

You just visit the nearest Central or State GST Office with the documents of proprietory firm such as Your PAN No.,UID No.,Shot and Establishment Act registration, if any and the Documents in respect of Rent if the place of business is rented and if owned the document like sale deed and / or the tax receipt. The description of the product dealt and / or the services rendered or to be rendered. You must have E-signature approval from the IT authority.The GST Facilitation centre would guide you promptly. In case you value of the services or the value of the goods supply is less than Rs.20 Lakhs you need not to register for GST. more  

Just a reminder that once registered, you have to file a return -nil even - even if there is no transaction. And there is a penalty if you do not file a nil return; quite ridiculous, when the poor guy who is yet to begin business has to worry about filing nil returns on fear of penalty which many are not in a position to bear. The most ridiculous provision that the great GST scheme has brought on. more
