New Electricity Meter connection - DHBVN.
I had applied for New electricity meter connection last week for my flat in Gurgaon. As I was advised to apply online, I proceeded to do that by following the instructions and I also paid the fees of Rs.6050/-
I was also asked to make a bond on stamp paper which I did and went and submitted all the hard copies at around 3:00 pm at the Maruti Udyog DHBVN office.
I was surprised to receive an sms the same evening within three hours that my application has been rejected. Within a few hours of submission of all the documents I got this sms, I was pleasantly surprised that DHVBN is working on speed to send such a message so fast to its applicants.
When I asked the reason for the rejection, I was told that documents uploaded on their website were incomplete. Now I had followed all the instructions so I called and verified and was told that even the bond should be scanned and uploaded. Without proper instructions, how will the public get to know the procedure.
I was told to go through the whole process again and reapply. I was also told to pay the fees of Rs.6050/- again. I asked them why should I do that when I had already paid, they said either that amount will be adjusted in future bills or I should run from pillar to post to get the refund of that amount.
This Haryana govt seems to be taking the public for a ride. DHBVN should know that they cannot expect the public to keep paying every time they reject an application. How many times I will be paying the fees and what assurance is there that I will get the refund back.
This is ridiculous, the government systems are very unclear and such a nuisance to face so many hurdles without proper guidance, they should either refund the money back into the bank account within 24 hours or adjust that amount with the re-application. more

The problem with our bureaucracy is that they don't suffer themselves and hence are least interested in understanding the problem of people , even less of solving it . more

Another problem is overincoiving by housing societies, my socieity charges Rs 10 flat rate for electrcity supplied by DHBVN, should DHBVN not check this ramphant profiteering. more
