My money for Swachh Bharat

The Govt yesterday said that they will be charging Swachh Bharat cess from Nov 15 so movie, phone calls and other consumption things will become more expensive. I feel now we have even a bigger role to play becoz the municipal bodies Swachh funds are coming out of our salaries/earnings.

The Swachh Bharat office has taken lot of inputs but they have failed at driving municipIalities to deliver. I would like to hear from the mission director what is he doing so we dont have another year of outright municipal failure (atleast in place like Noida). Now you must answer becoz what you are giving to the muncipal commissioner is coming out of my expense budget. Why have you not mandated that only those MCs who are in this community with 3 lakh ppl will ony get the funds.

The Govt will have a crisis if you dont deliver and in turn these MCs dont deliver. Looking for answers. more

All those here claiming that keeping an area clean is the responsibility of the municipal body alone should stop to think what you do in your personal life - spitting, littering, encouraging male children to urinate wherever they are standing (have seen this at bus stops and street corners), even adults peeing wherever they want; throwing plastic wrappers on the street even though you could put it in your pocket or bag until you found a bin (that's what I always do), and generally being atrociously dirty. What is any municipal body going to do about your own lousy habits? Learn to sort your garbage into recyclable, compostable, and non-recyclable items before you talk about sarkari corruption. more
Mr Surti why are you trying to justify our government's move in imposing an additional tax burden by comparing with the system in existence in USA? Our government and/or the local bodies could not even provide the garbage disposal containers during last 18 months. So you forget about other things in vogue in USA, who are actually justifying the charges they are recovering from the common men by doing work. Under no circumstances they allow garbage/waste to be staked on road sides/on vacant lands and in corners of houses and/or to throw on the streets/in drains and to spit on roads and public places. On the contrary what we see in our country. Who will give the guarantee that after collecting the additional tax as recently imposed, India will become clean in real sense and the additional money so collected will not be eaten up by the corrupt machinery and officials/employees along with the corrupt political leaders? In fact as per the present trend, it can be conveniently said that it is an excuse to impose additional tax and the real intention is to make additional funds available to the corrupt functionaries to meet their corrupt peactices. Bharat will continue to remain 'Aswachch' under the banner of "Swachch Bharat". more
The only remedy for Indian citizens are rests in implementing GST, the rates of almost everything will come down to about 30 to 35%....this cess are petty in compare to that.... so urge congress to support Govt. and let at-least Parliament to function...... everything will be fine..... more
