Mosquito Repellent coil leading to deaths
Six people of a family were found dead in their house in the Shastri Park Delhi area after they inhaled carbon monoxide produced as a result of the overnight burning of mosquito repellant while they were sleeping.

Why Blame Mosquito Coil. People have died due to Carbon Monoxide inhalation during Winter by keeping Chulha in Bedroom, even died whence they preferred with AC on in Cars. more

It seems to be a sub standard product. There should be specs for all such consumables. The regulators should check the quality of products available at retail stores. more

BIS and FSSAI should take note of the same and with so many manufacturers they should put a norm so that the vapour emanating from them will not intoxicate and also warnings should be put boldly on the repellent and also when any advt is shown in media they should include these aspects in the same to bring an awareness on the fly on the do's and don'ts of the same .This will go a long way in educating the public in the right way of using it more

probably they forgot to have enough ventilation if using a repellent coil... or probably find other safer alternative (if any)... more
