Mismanagement from common man’s lens

Paid a total of just over Rs. 4,71,000 as Income Tax for FY24-25.

And you know something? My savings and investments are much lesser than that. Why? Because:

I have to pay rent & maintenance.
I have to pay insurance premium + GST on the same.
I have to buy an air purifier + GST on the same.
I have to buy a water filter + GST on the same.
I have to pay car (2nd hand) insurance + GST
I have to pay hefty toll charges.
I have to pay heavy car maintenance due to bad roads.
I have to pay hospital bills over and above my insurance.
I have to pay hefty GST on my child's baby feed (18%).
I have to pay bribes to get government services.
Many others

Moreover, I have to pay GST on everything I buy and invest.

Even after paying so much taxes, you have to struggle to get basic rights like clean air, drinking water and other basic necessaties, it seems like i'm paying taxes for nothing but to fund freebies to freeloaders and senseless Yojana's.

Life is becoming unbearable with increase in costs due to inflation and hefty taxes, and it feels like working and contributing as a taxpayer is pointless when the government seems to ignore us. 😠

How about you? How much you have paid Income Tax? How are you feeling contributing to Government? more

I totally agree with you more
Many politicians have not attended Parliament for a single day but still they have drawn their salary and perks. Which system provides this type of luxiary? Atleast some attendance must be prescribed. This is really ASTONISHING. more
Arvind Tiwari We in India have a major give away and have had big vote bank. Many in the name of poverty. more
We have multi-level taxation. Every citizen of this country pays tax, be it in the form of GST, toll, etc. and over and above income tax. Leave aside the freebies, why politicians and Government vehicles are exempt from paying toll? Why so much salary and pension to Legislatures/Parliamentarians? They draw 12 month salary; for what? Only 3 sessions are conducted in a year. How many of these attend sessions, for how many days and their boycott? However, no deductions based on full time attendance. Not sure if a convict person like Lalu Prasad Yadav is still getting pension? Unfortunately, we only express ourselves orally with no concrete action and that's where these politicians take advantage. more
All politicians are same. If we can recover ill gotten wealth of all politicians, there will not be any necessity to tax any body. All have amassed wealth for their several generations at our cost more
