Media Reports of Safety Cess
I am reading on CNBC that Railways is contemplating imposing a Safety Cess on all tickets. This is really bad. There is Education cess, krishi kalyan cess, swachh bharat cess and now a railway safety cess.
Isnt safety a basic right, a basic ingredient. Should airlines also charge safety cess to ensure they transport passenger accident free. What if you charge safety cess and accident happens.
Railways should really figure out what the hell is needed to improve safety and get the basics in place. Once you cut lets say accidents in half in 2017, people wont mind paying a safety cess.
Otherwise just like swachh bharat cess, we are looking at another flop cess and more passengers moving away to airlines. more

Safety steps of passengers taken by Govt. Railways or Govt. of India is only in budget or papers . There is no ground realty . Reasons is very clear , in any train accidents or mis-happaning in journey is not found in either leaders or their family member or relatives of any big leader . Railway increases there fund by back door from passengers all taxes by taking one rupee as insurance railway income crores daily . more

Instead of collecting cess under different heads Railways should increase fare and fix a percentage of it for safety. Charging extra under different heads will put passengers under extreme hardship because in future just to fool passengers the new minister may not increase the fare but increase safety cess by many folds. It is just like toll tax. The state govt. may not increase road tax but allows toll tax operators to bleed the vehicle owners. more

even i dont agree to impose of safety tax as there are already too many taxes and this will lead to sealing of taxes and demonetization will be proved worthless.......I don't say not to impose tax but not too many everywhere taxes are being increased..... more

GOVT COLLECTS EVERYTHINGS WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO DO WITHOUT BEING ACCOUNTABLE TO GIVE ACCOUNTS OF MONEY COLLECTED AND WORK DONE. more
