Mask and Social Distancing Compliance falls going into Festive Season

Thanks to all of you who participated in the recent Mask and Social Distancing Compliance Survey. Below is the link to the survey report:

Mask and Social Distancing Falls as Festive Season arrives

This is very very concerning. Do share the link as wide as you can with all your friends, family, social media urging them to observe mask and social distancing norms. We cannot afford a 3rd wave of COVID as a nation

If you have inputs and experiences, do share. more

In a recent reply to an RTI request, National Institute of Virology has clarified that they have NO evidence for effectivity of Masks, Hand Sanitizers and Social Distancing. So, it is clear that these guidelines do not originate from scientific research. Anybody interested can read this RTI response. Everyone should do their own research and not simply follow advertisements and those "experts" who work for various hospitals. more
The vast majority of people who.skipped second dose must be forced by administrative. measures like carrot and stick.and denial.of benefits . There must be one more round of publicity blitz ! Otherwise we are waiting for the worst resurgence. more
November spread will be heavy and even serious more
If any one wish to protect himself, keep adhering covid protocols. It is not worth advising public about covid protocols any more. more
Every citizen must adhere to follow covid appropriate behaviour very meticulously and religiously on his/her own whenever they are out in the public. Again, one has to move out only for essentials. Going in groups also must be avoided. Even at religious places, authorities do not enforce discipline and devotees do not follow regulations. Manpower is not available to monitor crores of people out in the public. Further watch dogs are also corrupted. Yes, surprise checks are possible. Awareness among people will go long way to get an ideal situation. more
The survey responses are along expected lines. Personally, I do not see anything amiss here. There is a convergence of government policies ("COVID appropriate behaviour") and censorship imposed by foreign Social Broadcasters and all Media in general, there is a view among many sections that wearing masks, maintaining distance from fellow citizens etc., is established science. But, really speaking, wearing masks is far from acceptance science. I am hereby providing a few examples which all are welcome to review and comment. These examples are from proper scientific research and not any opinions whether from myself or from any other person. 1. There is no scientific research on the topic of healthy individuals having to wear masks, other than in the situation like entering a high-risk area, for example, entering ICU of patients suffering from serious respiratory illness. There are some observational studies which do not demonstrate any statistical significance between mask wearers and non-wearers catching the disease. For example, this Danish study: "Effectiveness of Adding a Mask Recommendation to Other Public Health Measures to Prevent SARS-CoV-2 Infection in Danish Mask Wearers : A Randomized Controlled Trial", doi: 10.7326/M20-6817. Epub 2020 Nov 18. 2. People wearing cloth masks have a higher risk of catching an ILI (Influenza like illness) than compared with non-wearers. For example: "A cluster randomised trial of cloth masks compared with medical masks in healthcare workers", doi: 10.1136/bmjopen-2014-006577. 3. The list of hazards of wearing of masks is long. For example: "Is a Mask That Covers the Mouth and Nose Free from Undesirable Side Effects in Everyday Use and Free of Potential Hazards?", DOI: 10.3390/ijerph18084344 . Quoting from the paper referenced in above (3) point: O2 drop and Fatigue (p < 0.05) Cooccurrence of respiratory impairment and O 2 drop (67%) N95 mask and CO2 rise (82%) N95 mask and O2 drop (72%) N95 mask and headache (60%) Respiratory impairment and temperature rise (88%) Temperature rise and moisture under the masks (100%) The authors of the paper summarize “Extended mask wearing by the general population could lead to relevant effects and consequences in many medical fields”. Indian Government needs to take cognizance of scientific research on the topic and not adopt WHO recommendations in toto. more
