Make Indian Railways Better Circle
How to improve basic amenity? staff at every station should be supervised.. many a place i have heard, the lower level staff are working for the superiors at their home, etc... More stringent vigilance is needed.
At stations, basic cleanliness is lacking.. the best example is the Old Delhi Rly Stn. Then there are particular interest groups.. like if u want to have a taxi from Delhi/Nizamuddin Railway Station, many a times no prepaid taxi is available. The police is waiting a taxi to come for dropping a passenger and catch hold of him. On the other hand, many number of taxis are permanently laying their - but they will not go on prepaid. they will go on their will with their own conditions. At the stations, availability of public conveyance is highly important. Authorities should think about it. Rly may very well say, it is not under their purview!
Sir, the vast Indian Railway is a SERVICE Organisation for the people of India, which can be improved but the collective efforts of employees, other agencies like police, traffic authorities and most important of all is public themselves. more
Do not agree with Madhulika Saxena. Rather period should be increased so that one can plan in advance but the ticket should be linked with valid identity such as Aadhar Card/PAN Card/Official I Card/ Pass Port/Voter Card or National Population identity card etc. so that only required genuine people make use of Reservation system. Bogus reserved booking needs to be reduced or eliminated as far as possible. Reserved category or quota tickets needs to be reduced. It is seen only with such quota tickets or VIP recommendations all malpractices develops leading to unrest for persons who do not get reservation. Suggest two type of tickets be introduced cancellable and no cancellable so that real demand is assessed and eleventh hours cancellations are discouraged. more
