LocalCircles Citizen pulse led to NMC being put in abeyance
This is just top class impact of LocalCircles. I have spoken to folks in the Government and was told that IMA asks aside, it was a citizen survey that made the Government rethink whether prescription from Doctors should only have generic salt name.
3 cheers to all members and LC manager. Hope the Government does proper consultation on the matter before updating NMC rules.
I request that citizen consultation be done for all
Major clauses. On the ethics front also there should be public feedback and Doctors must accept whatever public says.
If that means no incentives from anyone and no sponsored conference so be it.
Let the Govt or NMC organise 4-6 events a year where industry and practitioners meet and new learnings happen. more

In USA most doctors write the prescription with the name familiar to them. The licensed pharmacist dispenses the medicines unlike in India. The pharmacist checks in the computer whether a generic is available. The choice is given to the customer, brand name or generic. All pharmacists have to be licensed to dispense prescription medicines. more
