The recent dust storm and rain led to loss of 100+ lives life in many parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Per weather reports, more dust storms and rain is expected in North India.

If you are unable to be indoors when the Thunder is just above 1. DO NOT TAKE SHELTER UNDER A TREE 2. DO NOT USE AN UMBRELLA WITH METAL ROD END PROJCTING UPWARD 3. IF IN OPEN SIT ON THE GROUND ON YOUR FEET CLOSE TO EACH OTHER 4. DO NOT USE CELL PHONE. Preferably take shelter in a building provided with lightning protection. Ravindra Arora more

You have to wonder about the actual preparedness of the National Disaster Management. Looking at these pictures, they've obviously been blandly picked up from some 'Western country's' disaster program, where readers will identify with them. The blonde woman in a car, the kind only found there in the 50's and 60's, the sign on the road. Tea Timber - really. Didn't even bother to make that sound meaningful. Information updates - the microphone is again from the era of news casting in US as the car in the earlier picture. How prepared is our government to handle disasters one has to wonder. Or is it only appearing to be -- that it wants! more
