Key public places to clean - Inputs

Dear all:

Many of you have connected through the Swachh Bharat local circle for your city/constituency and done cleanliness drives already.

With this post, we would like to seek your inputs on some of the key areas/public places that citizens can get together and clean.

Your inputs would be of great value and we will publish a collective checklist that can be used by a broader citizen group.

We look forward to your participation!

For Swaccha Bharat movement to succeed firstly we need to put adequate no of dust bins in all public places and ensure they are regularly being emptied and kept clean. No point in giving a huge publicity without infrastructure in place. Even now when I want to throw garbage I don't find any dustbins around. more
FRIENDS WE CANNOT SEE THE EFFECT OF SWACHCH BHARAT MISSION AS IT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME LIKE CLEAN YAMUNA DRIVE BY MRS. SHEELA DIKSHIT JI GOVT. WHICH SPEND AWAY CRORES OF PUBLIC MONEY BUT YIELDED NOTHING AS THE WHOLE MONEY GOES DOWN THE DRAIN. FOR EXAMPLE SEE THE KARSEVA DONE BY SIKHS TO CLEAN THEIR GURDWARA POOLS DOES IT REQUIRE CRORES OF PUBLIC MONEY , IT ONLY REQUIRES WILLINGNESS TO PERFORM BY OWN HANDS WHOLE-HEARTEDLY (NOT ONLY MONEY). more
I am not seeing any effect of Swachch Bharat Mission in public places like raiway stations, auto rickshaw stand, bus stand or market. All the people are not doing their bit for doing so. more
This citizens can get together and clean can happen for a day or few days. This will help only for photo opps. By this we will be cheating ourselves. What is required is proper planning and execution. more
Areas to be cleaned are public toilets, Railway/bus stations, open drains, Slum areas, Shelters for bus stops, open nallas, educated people residence surroundings, weekly markets, fish markets etc. more
