IS MADURAI A PRIDE OF TAMIL NADU?

I had been to Madurai recently to visit temples in and around it. Madurai is known for Meenakshi temple, a city which she is said to rule. I do not understand why the local people are out to defame her. The city is in chaos with over-crowded streets, lack of discipline and some unscrupulous tourist city establishments such as hotels and autos whose charges are ₹120-150 for a 2km trip. I did find the garbage removers working very early in the morning but their efforts are in vain because filth, garbage and leaking sewers double up during the day.

We stayed at a hotel in Town hall Street. There was a pond there in total neglect which is an eye-sore to look at. I do not know whose responsibility it is to maintain the large pond, the municipal Corporation or its land owner which could be some temple. The area itself is bustling with a lot of thriving business activity, with labrinthine narrow gallys, where hardly a bicycle can pass through. But the lanes are so dirty. There is no water in the pond. The banks of the pond is littered with all kind of wastes. What would it take to beautify that pond?. It is sad that the Corporation or possibly temple owner of that area or the business community around that area or the NGOs taking no notice of this eye-sore. Such is the community responsibilty in a temple city which could be a haven of tourist attraction. more

Very sad state of affairs. We had been to Madurai for temple visit about 15 days back and felt the same way. more
Tamil Nadu is being RULED AND MANAGED by anti-hindu forces. Therefore, forget, why? One can not fight with greedy and dependent political rulers more
Antagonism towards Hindi cannot come in the way of efforts to keep the city of Madurai clean in keeping with the clarion call for SWACHA BHARAT given by PM, Narendra Modi ever since he became the PM of India. more
Why to Cry on Govt ? It is reality of Kafirs to Cry like beggers for anything. If the temples like Balajis , Minakshi & surrounding spend some part of Income on cleanness of the surroundings , city through NGO , Private operators then it will be Lesson to govt. Don't Give money to Govt. It will create employment in local as well improve city standards also, give cameras to clean workers for making photos. If somebody is making dirt he should be fined heavily Not less than Rs. 2000 /00 + 10 days compulsory cleaning of public road irrespective of his age & gender. If Implemented the Problem will get solved. Pl. Note that 100 % democracy never get success in anywhere. the internal enemies will always try to brake the rule & spoil the system. Do it firmly instead of Crying on social media. more
It is the people who throw garbage and filth and spit. Do not always blame the government more
