Interest on Dormant PF Accounts
Presently interest is not paid on dormant PF accounts beyond three years. Recently during budget time, I read a news item stating Government is thinking of paying interest. Is a change in the policy expected? I want to withdraw my PF account dormant since 4 years. Is it a good to wait for some time ? more

The cleaning up shd result in better customer service. The ground realities are just yhe same. more

It is true that Govt has announced for not paying interest on PF/any account related to PF account after 3 years completion on leaving his job(say Employee has left job in the year 2010 and till 3 years he will get the interest and after that no interest will be added to his account.) Hope till dt. it seem so no changes will take place and if u see this year budget the rate of interest are also reduced in EPF account. Now it is upto ur end to withdraw or to hold the amount in the same account. more

Actually, PF department. of late doing lots of cleaning jobs which is a welcome one at the same time here N there hiccups are there, hope that as well be cleared and clarified at the earliest. Now, we can see our Passbook online, need not wait for the Annual Statement and so on to know our savings. Every month when the employer remits the PF Contribution we receive alerts so that we know that every month the contribution is remitted by employer or not. Withdrawal is very fast, they do online Transfer with SMS alert. We have online A/c Transfer facility now as well. Further, now EPF Dept., even gives time every month to hear the practical problems of employer as well, every month 10th there is a meeting scheduled for all the employers to find all kinds of solutions and so on. more

By Jun 2016 you will get to know the correct picture so, waiting for 3 months is a better idea more
