free toilets at every popular bus stop and railway stations can do a lot. more
Social acceptability of defecation in open is already minimal, the only thing that people don't speak up against it. They speak up only when some body is defecating in their neighborhood. And if you see in Capital city like Delhi, who have the time to speak up. This has to be lawfully enforced not to defecate in Open. But every one know, When it come lawful enforcement, this becomes the way of earning for police rather than curbing the problem. more
Many a times there is a smell of cigarette or Bidi even the smoke in the toilet. Many cigarette or Bidi smoker are using toilets as smoking chamber wherein they can relax with these items e.g. trains & public toilets. Many of the non smokers would not like to go to these toilets. Why the smoking is not ban in these toilets?Would the Govt. think to make a strict law to tackle these people. more
Government / local bodies / MPLAD must advertise, and fund new / available free (24/7) public toilets, for every 100 meters in all cities and towns. This will increase the knowledge of available toilets, and help people looking for a toilet, to commute to that toilet. more
You are telling the word that building toilets will not stop the practice of open defecation. Eventhough you are building toilets for both rural and urban areas the main thing is no proper water supply. Some of them are using the toilets they never pour enough water. So others will not use the toilet. Some times it is over flowing. The people responsible for cleaning is not availing. So it is very difficult to use the toilets. The next thing is it is dungen in nature so unable to tolerate to sit in the toilets. In the ladies toilets more problems are available especailly the disposal of napkins. For all those things that must be properly done we must educate the people not only the uneducated the learned persons are also doing the same mistakes. The people working must have a dedication. The beneficiaries also have their role in cleaning and maintaining the toilets clean. more
