Increase stoppage time
It is noticed that in smaller station the train halt for 1 minute only, which is not sufficient time to board the train with luggage and family , especially with kids. The Railways authorities must take note of the problems faced by passengers of smaller stations.
My suggestions are:
1. Reduce the halting times of major stations by 2/3 mins.
2. Where the halting time is 25 mins or more reduce it by 5 mins
3. Minimum halting time should be between 2 to 3 mins and maximum halting time should be 20 to 22 mins. more

increase to min 2 mins. As usual the trains come late.. they would rush due to delay.. in big stations they wait for more than the specified limit (of 20 min or more) more

Express trains running for 1000km may have about 10 small stations. Increase from 1 min to 2 minutes will increase the travel time by 10mins. How does it matter. Our trains running 15 min late is considered as 'On Schedule'. I fully agree to the concern. Actually the train is stopping for more than 1 min if there is more passengers to board. The train will ove only when the guard gives a green signal. The guard never gives a green signal unless all passengers board the train. This problem rarely happens in India, other than Metros. more

India Railways must have minimum 50% general coaches in every train. Condition of commuters is pathetic, below dignity and looks as if these people are aliens. more
