In flight Mobile connectivity
The Govt issued attached notification yesterday to start mobile connectivity in flight.
The telcos are doing such an ultra poor job of providing mobile connectivity in national capital region they should not be allowed to go in-flight till they prove their on ground services work.
TRAI the regulator is failing so pathetically in providing decent voice coverage. Why arent heavy heavy penalties not issued to these companies.75% of my calls drop. Local Circles please take up this issue with TRAI DOT PMO. more
As it is there is the passengers keep talking loudly, some of them playing offline videos and audios without headphones. Introduction of mobile connectivity will only add to the noise. Can people not be without internet even for 3 hours during their flight? more
High spectrum & revenue share charges, local problems wrt mobile towers & fiber cabling have crippled Telcos wrt capital investment capability to create better connectivity. Governments should look at this area more
It’s really a big problem and I agree with you that heavy penalty should be imposed if they do not improve immidiately.

When I was in UAE I never ever faced call drop or slow internet connectivity, it is really a big disappointment for india that still most of the rural areas are facing slow internet, call drop of poor network coverage and telecom company is aiming to provide 5G services from next year, not so far I have regular experience of slow internet or almost nill whenever i go to platform no 8 of Lucknow junction, I m using JIO SIM in 4G phone it is a big surprise and even after so many complaints the situation remains same, so when telecom companies are unable to provide a regular high speed internet connectivity along with good network coverage then there is no wonder that they arre unable to provide the services in aircraft. more
