When all the other private TV companies concentrates on the rating , why government channels like Doordarshan are not concentrating on the rating which leads to loss so government will provide subsidy for the staffs salary and channels expenses. That too subsidy for the staffs who do not concentrate in developing the channel, then what is the use of running the channel. more
Participation by 2 Female retired Judges in the Council/ Committee/ Board ; will lead to all set wisely please . more
Well, we have Doordarshan for all these uplifting, moral and social programs. This is a Government undertaking. Let them set the trend and monitor the viewership. If their ratings rise, other channels will follow. As for monopoly among a "few family groups": Ad agencies wait for viewership numbers before they commit to putting their clients out there. TV serials are very expensive to make and and are paid for by advertisements. Very few people have the money to make the serial and hope for advertisements. Would the government help to sponsor the serials you feel the public wants? more
Every party is having a T V . Abuse of other party is their daily business. Moreover they are earning more money through advertisements. more
Media is a road, and every road has two directions, unless you are at one end. - from The Modern Guru. Use media for useful education, useful information, and clean entertainment; that is the direction we must take. Please do not abuse media just for a quick profit and thus damage the society, its people and their minds permanently. That is the wrong direction. There is so much media can teach, so much good influence media can have, it can change the country. Then why not? more
