Higher Education Governance

Higher Education Governance is a tricky area. How people learn and teach cannot be easily mandated. Given this, a community of serious educators and regulators need to come together and generate governance systems that go beyond mere issuance of rules and their followership. Those interested in giving views on Higher Education Governance and generating excellence may please join the discussion. Thank you more

Higher Education in India, everyone agrees, needs fixing. This requires much support from institutions themselves, regulatory bodies, parents etc. In my experience as an academic, the students themselves are ready for change. I have penned a few short articles at https://www.linkedin.com/in/k-sankaran-0387053/detail/recent-activity/posts/ .... There are many initiatives that this august body of well-meaning citizens at Local Circles can initiate and support. Let us brace of action!! Please do critique the article(s) to create collective some initiatives. The area of Higher Education needs much dialogue and discussion to bring out nuanced ways of understanding the complexity involved... and act on them. more
In my opinion the respected Professors and the Lecturers of prestigious institutions such as IIM,IIT and NITK ,and the Heads of the Top Best Colleges should voice their opinions and comments to the attention of respective governing bodies so as to bring about an improvement in the governance of Education To day A degree-MBA has become unanimous to speak about ,however the degree holders coming from various institutions are not at all at Par and it degrades the image Of MBA Standardisation of Degree per say is need of the hour for the benefits of employers and employee/entrepreneurs more
Their role is now required even in the issue of Constitutional Provisions and, the method of Rule please more
Great emphasis to be put in this Fied. Generally also teaching talent and Skills mostly ignored both in government and Private Sector. Ex.President also deeply regretted in 2013 AND called for dedicated commitment to reinstate. Now to be targeted deploying inefficient/ untalented Teaching Staff to administrative POSTS. more
