Health of Economy

You don't need a PhD to understand the health of our economy.

Most numbers are thrown at you to overwhelm you.
You are smart enough to observe simple things like-

1) Low jobs, low savings
2) No petrol price cuts
3) Slow GDP growth
4) Killing relationships with top economies
5) High taxes

It is a not hard to guess the direction in which our economy is headed.

Build a fall back plan. Because every top business person, politician is building one. more

Don't fall prey to the fake narrative of "Dead Economy" originated by Trump and taken forward by RG. Ours is a fast growing economy. I agree with the views expressed by Mr. Dheeraj Kochhar. more
The note paints a very pathetic story of how our economy is. However, things are not so bleak or at the edge of disaster. We are in a global phase where lots of changes are happening, and our country is not free from that. How we tackle the change and persevere will play a major role. We have a very large economy, which is a blessing. We are self-sufficient in the most basic resources, but a lot more needs to be planned and done to be competitive and thwart global pressures and competition. The government is reflective of the people who elect them to office. more
Tapas and R L Maheshwari many developed economies are far far behind please check facts before commenting if you look at debt of china and America the debt is 25% more than there total economies and the whole economy collapses when it reaches more than 50% of total economy both countries are catching fast ( around 30 trillion debt for china and around 50 trillion debt for USA) . as mentioned by Tapas himself India's debt is 60 lakh crore against total economy ( India's economy is around 400 lakh crores) thanks for the info Tapas which is by all means the least with a huge 6.3% GDP growth rate.why a growing economy has or should have debt please join some economics college cause its a huge topic to learn and imbibe few things more
Current govt contains Politicians and not Economists, so what you can expect. Its quite simple when you needs money, raise more taxes on masses. more
Yadwendra Singh You missed the point. If you think you dint, pls suggest detailed and practical recommendations to alleviate the situation. Theoretically we all may agree on several suggestions. Implementation has a lot of challenges which is totally off your influence. more
