Health, Development, Employment

One of the major challenges in our country today is non accessibility of good/modern medical facilities to vast majority of our population, worst affected are the rural people and financially weaker sections across country. Key reasons are:
1. Very few good hospitals equipped with medical facilities.
2. Very few good/qualified doctors available in this country, although we have 1.2 billion+ people.
3. Medical treatment became very costly (both hospital cost and Doctor fees)
4. Good doctors reluctant to visit rural areas
5. Treatment at Govt hospitals became a consolation service for the common poor

With the development motive of the new govt, I would suggest few immediate actions in health sector which will help improve common public health, employment opportunities for bright students. My suggestions:
1. Govt should ensure/set up medical college and hospital in each district of our country. Medical colleges can be either through state/central govt or private entrepreneur.
2. Ensure enough qualified doctors passing out from each district.
3. More focus should be on private participation as govt may not be able to support financially.
4. Reserve 50% seats in district medical colleges for the students from the respective districts/villages.
5. Put a cap on donations in private colleges, make mandatory entry through Joint entrance or higher minimum eligibility of marks in HS level (around 75%) for entry to ensure bright students only gets admission to produce good quality doctors.

Now we have enough engineering colleges to cater to the technocrat requirements of our country/ world, but very few medical colleges which is the main bottleneck for availability of doctors. Under such situation, 80% of our population gets afraid to visit good doctors for their exorbitant fees/surgery cost. More hospitals, more doctors will help affordable treatment to the common people. Further this will be a good employment opportunity for bright students in India/abroad. more

At present there is acute shortage of good quality health care. Let the government set up AIMS like institutions in each state in next 3 years. more
I would like to suggest further that a part of old age pension should be contributed as medical health insurance to elder citizens in leu of cash to ensure their proper treatment in need . more
Every District should have at least 2 Medical Colleges and Priority of admission should be given from Concerned Taluka under that district ...Convert Government Hospital in to Medical and nursing colleges...Give Employment in same district hospital medical centers from which one graduates......Encourage Bloods testing and x ray center at government hospital in every taluka by making it high tech people friendly and clean.... more
