Govt servants apathy towards citizen services

Go to any govt offices for any service, one needs to wait - either the service person is not on the seat, is on leave or has gone off on some other "official" work. Or there is big queue, blame it on the slow servers or lethargic service person. Or one is made to go from one counter to another.
In Bangalore, a new system called e-khatha is being implemented for properties registered. For this, the civic official is to visit each property and get the printout of the tax paid receipt. For one, the civic agency already has the details, why again get it. And can a simple system for citizens to upload the document not be provided? Why should the official visit every property? Ok, let them visit. We have been waiting for an hour to visit us from the time he had given us, but he has still not turned up. Call him and he says that he is just coming.
Absolutely no respect of citizens' time. more

1.Just like for digital payments, there must be a system for online requests/complaints/ feedback. 2. Working phone numbers need to be provided 3. For every action or reaction a time frame is needed with reward and punishment. 4 Only in rare cases with due reason time frame be relaxed more
This is just another new way to make more money by the babus and the netas, since the government coffers are empty due to vote buying using tax payer's money for freebies. more
Why does not the LC recommend that no government job should be secure and people can be terminated if they do not perform. A sheet has to be prepared with the names of all who go to the concerned department and when the work is done, the customer (that is us) gives the rating for the person in charge who has or has not done the work. That way like in private offices performance can be gauged. more
I live in Pune. I went to the Commissioner of Housing Societies to complain. I was made to wait for an hour as VIP persons were coming and going to see the commissioner. When my turn came, I was told to give my complaint in writing. So the next day, October 7, 2024 I submitted my complaint in writing and took an inward number. I have been calling ever since to see where my case lies. No one picks up the phone, hence I have to go all the way to the office to inquire. The complaint has been sitting with one person or another since October 7, believe it or not. What is the excuse - Elections! you go to meet the police commissioner you have to wait for two to three hours. He directs you to the DSP commissioner where you wait for another three hours to present your complaint and even after that no action is taken. So much so for the PM and his words to see to the woes of the common man. more
