Govt acts on LocalCircles ask on taxi aggregators

For 5 years we in this circle have been demanding that the Government and taxi platforms implement a penalty for drivers when they cancel a ride and guess what yesterday the Government has heard us and imposed 10% penalty on driver for cancelling rides.

However the TOI paper is truly bad journalism and when it wrote the story there was no credit given to LocalCircles
Members or the platform.

Very smartly though the Govt has introduced a surge price limit expansion to 200% which means average amount we pay for a ride will go up. This must be opposed. Hope LC Manager takes note. more

how will the penalty of 10% imposed is not clear. Will the next driver fare be lowered by 10% for the customer or how more
Why are rides cancelled? Simply because some of the rides are uneconomical. This can be solved by tweaking the fares and also putting a cancellation governor. No driver should be allowed to accept and then cancel more than a couple of times a day. If they don't like it, they should not accept the opportunity. Any amount of legislation will not work till the basic problem is sorted out, and that is not being addressed. Again, there has to be a capping on surge pricing in inflationary economies like ours. more
