Glad to see newspapers cover hospital billing standard issue

Sincere thumbs up to all members and especially LC Manager for taking up this issue of standardisation of hospital bills.


Can now this be escalated to Govt for action to create a billing format which is of mandatory use by all hospitals! more

Standardisation of hospital charges
I have been tracking that LocalCircles has been discussing the issue of hospital standards esp around bill and billing but the medical health and consumer bis departments are failing to listen to people. May be they have other interests. Every hospital room has a different rate card for the same service:- See attached A Doctor's Visit in a Shared room costs Rs 1000-2000 A Doctor's Visit in a Suite Room Costs Rs 2500 With such variance in charges:- A surgery that can cost X in a general room can cost 2x in a Private room. This is within the same hospital. This needs to be standardised and fixed. Room is real estate. Treatment is healthcare. Why isnt the Govt separating them. Do lots of netas own hospitals? Please stand up friends

Lot of improvement is required in regulating hospitals billing, production and MRP of medicines and medical accessories in India. Large quantities of duplicate, fake, sub standard items carrying highly inflated MRP are pushed to hapless patients. It's day light robbery. more

Corruption at all stages - be at super soeciality hospital, TPA, and other releted departments, makes inflated billing a great success, thus, killing a poor patient. more
