Generating and saving electricity in running trains

We all know the importance of electricity. Indian Govt. also assigns many experts for energy audits etc. of different industries to reap its benefits. I also saw a very innovative way of installing solar panels over a canal at entry in Vadodara from Ahmedabad direction. Similarly, Indian Railways can take up installation of Solar Panels over the railway bogies which can more than suffice the running train lighting and to a good extent air conditioning requirement of the running train also. In such a way, IR can produce many hundreds of MW of electricity all over the country. Secondly, IR can immediately start implementing the drive from our lovingly PM Shri. Modi by purchasing LED lamps in bulk from the reputed makes within next one year. The payback of the same will be less than an year. The conventional IC bulbs work on 110v against our regular 230v bulbs. Therefore, these bulbs draw higher current for the same wattage for the needed illumination. Therefore, higher current and therefore. higher heat load on the air conditioning system of the ac bogies. This is a waste of energy and can be surely avoided. Further, when IR should immediately change the specifications of the bulbs for new bogies being built on most urgent basis.
for getting funds for this activity, IR can issue special tax saving certificates e.g. Natinal Saving Certificate and Tax Saving bonds of 3 years to have preallocated funding.
Request the circle members and IR to comment and suggest improvement or addition to the approach. Thank you in advance
One train illumination is equal to one mini colony illumination. A special task force may be set up by our highly respected minister Shri Sureshji Prabhu for the focused approach and speedy implementation all over the country. more

few trains the coaches are made to run on different tracks with different train numbers. The display board on the coach shows many train numbers and destinations. it creates lot of confusion in the minds of literate peoples also. hence trains be made to run with only current information boards or digital display boards can be placed, which will display the things only on stations to save electricity more
like RAIL NIR Indian Railways itself should start production of LED bulbs instead of buying from suppliers the requirement is huge - can be produced at low cost more
I fully agree with your opinion, LED lights with solar panel is the way forward to reduce the running costs of the railways to some extent. Considering that there are 8000 stations in the country and nearly 20000 trains running the length and breadth of the country the energy savings can be huge. And it will also be a good way to start the PMs idea of Make in India. more
