Gas subsidy

Govt., says that they want to remove gas subsidy in a phased manner. I do not understand , what is the actual gas subsidy Govt. is giving us.

In May, 2016, they charged domestic gas cylinder Rs.592.50, and gave subsidy of Rs.138.91, making subsidised cylinder cost as Rs.453.59, in Dec, 2016, cylinder cost is Rs.667.50, subsidy is R.195.50, so net cost is Rs.473.00, in March,2017 Cylinder cost is Rs.828/-, subsidy Rs.347.19, so net cost Rs.480.81, in July, 2017 they are respectively Rs.613.50, 127.49 and Rs.486/- and in August,2017 Cylinder cost is Rs.572/- subsidy Rs.83.75 and the net cost of cylinder is Rs.488.25.

When actual cost of subsidised cylinder is only in the range of Rs. 450/- to 490/-, the Govt. is making us pay heavy amounts and giving different amounts at different times Rs.138.91, once 347.19 and once 83.75., as subsidy, as their mercy, keeping the actual cost of cylinder more or less constant.
Why this Govt. and Oil Companies are playing cheap tricks to loot its customers. Not only in gas, every where they loot
the poor citizens, whether it is Railways, or Income tax
or GST.When they stop these attrocities. Who will control these hungry gods. more

Revision of Pay Scales to Revision of Pricing as well as Revision of Subsidies and Concessions have been based on the Cost of Manufacture/Supply and in this process the theory of share between State and Center vary sometimes astonishingly where the States prefer differently as the Pricing of Basic Food Grain Rice is R.1/- in a State , 2/- in another , to 7.5 etc., etc., while the Open Market stands PER kg. Rs.45/- . Secondly , the Subsidies and Concessions as well as Subsidized Pricing are only to carry reasonable rating to the general public and the poor . This responsibility also calls for the analysation of such benefits set on various issues with a overall commitment . Hence , there will be some certain issues appear unjust . more
Well said Mr Varma. Actually we are paying more than the actual cost. Who needs the subsidy? Remove all subsidies and let there be an open market rate. Government should only make the rules regarding the use of cylinders and everyone would follow them. Let there be a competition between the suppliers. Let the consumers make choice of the gas companies based upon the service they provide. Like they do in abroad. One can not believe how much money these middlemen are making. They are selling cheap quality stoves, gas supply hoses on exorbitant rates. Supplying the domestic gas cylinders to commercial caterers, halwaees etc and making money. Decontrol the gas and provide different sized cylinders. more
Correct please . Some places , the Gas supplied even a bare minimum price while those are being available at a premium price for those possess Single Cylinder / and of for a bulk need . more
Let Govt., fix a fixed price for gas cylinder, and the percentage of subsidy they are giving. more
