we aware that Maruti suzuki is doing cheating by giving new model of Scross.
they are offering alloy wheel only for four wheel and when your vehical get puncture you can not operate the car . because the stepny wheel is provided in MS sheet . this wheel is made by leer weight resulting disbalance of car.

Satyendra THis is standard by all Car suppliers. I have Xcent status is same. My friend has Eco Sport. Spare wheel is bit small and without alloy. more

Also Ajay, the S-cross is a Crossover, which means it is a bridge class between a sedan and and SUV. It is not meant to be an SUV or an offroader. The true test of an offroader is that it must have 4-wheel drive capability. Please do not take this for an SUV. All that a crossover offers you is some additional height and road presence. Otherwise, it is no different from any other sedan. And for this function, the spare is technically safe. Otherwise, taken outside it's parameters, even the alloys in city conditions are not 100% fool proof - or as we have seen in the case of NCR drivers, idiot-proof. As regards alloys Vs steel wheels, the Alloys simply provide better ride comfort, acceleration and looks. However, Steel wheels are stronger and much safer as Alloys tend to easily crack or bend under road impacts (I can give you technical info on why, but perhaps this is not the forum for it). Ideally, you would use Alloys under normal/city conditions and steels when you are in extreme weather or offroad. So frankly, I fail to understand your concerns with the spare wheel. It is narrower than equivalent Alloys because with the added weight of steel as against lighter Aluminium Alloy, you still need to maintain the unsprung weight of your car for balance and proportion. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that tire except maybe it looks different from the rest. Even if you go to purchase Alloys in the after market, you get these in sets of 4 and only those with extra money or extreme prejudice for looks purchase an alloy for the spare. more

The doughnut spare (as it is referred to) maintains balance and is of the minimum requisite standards permissible for the particular vehicle class, and it will run for '00s of Kms with no issues. But then again, as I said, the car company is not mandated to provide you with a full spare wheel. In fact, with modern technology, more and more car manufacturers are selling cars with tire inflators and/or puncture kits and no spare at all. They offer you the option to purchase a spare tire if you so wish. Anirudh Sir, Maruti S cross is a cross terrain vehicle meant to take one distances (as being advertised by the manufacturer). In case one gets a flat tyre and has to travel a minimum of 50-100 Km before one gets a repair shop believe me one is compromising with the safety of occupants in driving with a different type/size of rim. Cutting cost should never come at the cost of safety. more

The Stepney is a spare wheel no doubt but it is meant to replace a good wheel and should be of the same standards as it requires proper balancing and not meant to act only as stopgap except for fitting taking care of front or rear tread more
