Foods after which Water shouldn't be taken
Was at the airport recently and an aunty sitting across told my son not to drink water after peanuts as it can cause cough. Can someone share all the foods after which one must avoid water. I think it can help with reducing the number of times he gets cough/cold.

Thank you Dr. Bhatnagar. I will try it next time around with open mind. Having lived in America where they prescribe too much medicine, I am actually now a much more open minded person who looks at ayuerveda, homepathy, allopathy or other remedies. Some do seem to work pretty good. more

Dear Ms Alka - many region or culture specific myths circulate in all societies. colds are either BY Virus Rhinivirus or allergic in nature. if a child is allergic to a particular food some association is possible for only that particular child only, my post is always to promote scientific thinking & not for old aunt's tales. should i add that my both kids have always drank water after things you have listed but never got cold. Personal anecdotes mean nothing. more

I actually agree and disagree Dr. Bhatnagar. One must avoid unsolicited airport advice but I don't think we should drink water after Guava, custard Apple or Banana. My daughter invariably catches cold when she does any of the above...... more

Dear Ms Shikha- Better ignore unsolticited advice from Airport Aunts, if I tell a list of all things to be eaten or not you really won't be able to give any thing at all to your child. Just keep your child happy & enjoy his growing years. more
