Flossing for kids?

How important is it to have the kids do floss? What age should they start flossing their teeth? Should they floss with the same floss that I use or there is special floss available for kids? Thank you in advance.. more

Thank a lot. That is very helpful.. more
Hey, It is important for a child to get into the habit of flossing early in life, as it goes a long way in maintaining good oral hygiene. Flossing can be started as soon as teeth come into close contact, which is as early as 3 years of age. The child will obviously lack the dexterity to floss very well right now, but it will get them in the habit of doing it. I would recommend flossing at night at least twice a week. As for the floss you could use any floss including the one you prefer using. There is however, "wild flossers" which comes from Johnson & Johnson, which is a use and throw kind, meant for kids. Its easier to use. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions feel free to reach me at 01141554777 or visit our website www.nandadental.com Prashant more
What is the Right Way to Floss? Proper flossing removes plaque and food particles in places where a toothbrush cannot easily reach — under the gumline and between your teeth. Because plaque build-up can lead to tooth decay and gum disease, daily flossing is highly recommended. My Grand daughter in USA is 5 Years and I see her Flossing her Teeth. May be to start this practice early. See Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEgp3SEtB0I more
