Excellent report on Dark Patterns LC Manager

Not sure if everyone knows. The effort by LC manager has brought the Government to its knees and it had to hold a meeting with various platforms yesterday to tell them to remove dark patterns.

Government made the rule and their babus in typical style were chilling but our circle kept generating survey after survey about how manipulative practices impact consumers be it payment for airline seat or hidden charges.

Finally govt was forced to act!!

Long live localcircles and its every active member. Truly deserving of public service awards.

Lets hope govt acts and we stay on top to ensure they don’t. more

Frankly, I beg to differ if any quantum change has taken place in relation to dark patterns. Capitalism and stark profiteering are having a fairly free run. The role of LocalCircles to increase awareness so far is commendable, but we still have a long way to go before patting ourself on our backs and taking credit in anticiapation of welcome changes in advance. more
