Environment Awareness Campaign should remain active all days

Ministry of environment had been active in promoting Swachh Bharat abhiyan for many years. The theme percolating to common people & more to youth had been slow. It had been due to such forces which wish to belittle efforts put by initiators. opposing forces work against each hence failure. Try to involve as many by encouragement not through criticism of past initiatives. Appreciate what ever had been achieved till date. Add on. more

Workable plan at Grass route to “ BRING THE BEAUTY OF INDIA BACK” : 1. Take a team of dedicated staff only genuinely interested in the cleanliness drive rather than positions in the organization. There are some corporation and municipal workers who work with enthusiasm to achieve the Goal [may be 0 plastic, 0 trash and recycle ] Take in enough voluntary staff from the S.B.M. as they have the Zeal to keep the country clean and hygienic ; this opportunity will be most welcome by the volunteers as they can make their own as well as that of the S.B.M.’s dreams of making India clean . Also their influence will motivate the paid workers .Let them also be on advisory level. 2.Involve time tested NGO’s like Exnora International in Tamilnadu ,which started on a large scale in Chennai and Tamilnadu who will be able to give a lot of practical inputs . 3.Press in the services of Rag Pickers ; they know the terrain well . They are the only people who have the patience and experience to segregate the garbage into various categories. – Train them on further segregation. 4. Involve big medium small industrial establishments, I.T. Companies and the program can be carried out together in / near their vicinity . 4 a) Involve the local administration members also to get the support of the villagers / citizens . 5. Another potential source of to be roped in are the Big Educational Institutions like residential Universities, arts and science colleges . There are over 350 Engineering colleges in Tamilnadu with a student strength of well over 1 lakh , mostly residential students. The first year hostlers when they come are at a loss how to spend their free time ; involving them during their free time will also divert their attention from injurious habit. Besides there are arts and science colleges ; All of them young bubbling with enthusiasm .We can utilize the social work [MSW] Students who could be given Group Projects in villages and urban areas. At least this will bring in INVOLVED AWARENESS AMONGTHE STUDENTS AS WELL AS THE PUBLIC . This student awareness will go along way in their lives and future Swachh Bharat Programs. THE STUDENTS AND VOLUNTEERS TO PROPAGATE MAINLY AND NOT TO CLEAN THE TRASH GENERATED BY THE PUBLIC . May be if the community is willing to clean then join hands with them. 6. Wherever the work is started the areas should be provided with necessary equipment and Trash bins in sufficient quantities . 7.Persuade the public on where to clear and where not to dump the trash . If possible also slowly conscioundize the public to make the public to segregate the Trash. Cultivate them the habit of using the toilets ; also maintained by the local community. 8. Encourage Adoption of Villages by Indian or Multinational companies, I.T. Industries and Large Educational Institution . 9. Involve the Media actively to propagate what is happening in the neighbourhood, panchayat, district and state; let more people know what is happening and themselves motivated to join the Mission on voluntary basis. Any improvement should also be informed to the media to be published. 10. Utilize all the volunteers including the S.B.M. Volunteers to propagate on an almost one to one basis ; that means we need a large volunteer force, because the magnitude of the problem is huge. We have to try and arrest this on a war footing. 11.Select some 100 Panchayat board presidents / staff from all over India who have done well and excelled in their Panchayats ; allow them to share the success stories to other areas and also share their expertise and staff . Just 2 examples in Tamilnadu . *Thalaiyur panchayat, Thondamuthur block , Coimbatore District. *Natathi Panchayat , Tuticorin district. more
Comments and suggestions needed and local area problems highlighted. It all helps authorities to plan better with local area involvements. Do it, promote it. more
We are through 6 months when this initiative was launched to honor Mahatma Gandhi. Indian PM Narendra Modi took keen interest. What discourages is that not a single town has been opted for aggressive campaign, with resources going in for facilities & services, plans approved and followed seriously. This will speak bad on PM. Where is our Urban Development Ministers, central and state functionaries sitting. Ambassadors so selected are also napping. Country will never move forward unless a sense of seriousness springs in self. more
