Corporates can be asked to adopt nearby villages for a period of one or two years and weekends especially Saturdays they can put in a service of 2 hours cleaning surroundings, developing gardens with useful tree saplings in common areas. Planning sewage drains, rain water drains, channels cleaning also can be taken up. Meetings can be held, good clean habits can be propagated to young children in villages. Hand washing techniques taught to village children can help save many a life. Toilet building can be encouraged by Corporate people. more

In India most of the open defacation happens in villages and slum areas in the metros. Mumbai, Chennai have vast slum areas where public toilets are very scarce. It would be useful that a corporate under its corporate social responsibility undertake an area for construction of public toilets, its maintenance on day to day basis and educating the public living there to use in a proper way. There are Public Sector Enterprises like, banks, insurance, oil companies, which can be persuaded to adopt such areas for the said purpose more
